I think with the right information anything can be overcome, that’s why i appreciate when celebrities raise the awareness of causes and information available.
Mary J Blige and Big Boi (OutKast) have signed up to the Bringing the HOPE Home program, joining fellow campaigners in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday (18Apr09) on board the group’s special bus which is in the middle of a four-city tour.
On each stop, campaign officials offer homeowners the chance to review their situation with housing counsellors and mortgage lenders.
And Blige is delighted to be able to help, telling AllHipHop.com, “Foreclosure rates in Atlanta have risen drastically in recent years. So I want to do what I can to help educate people about the options available to them to help keep their homes. They have to know where to go to ask for help. But most importantly, they need to know that they have to ask.”
Big Boi adds, “There are too many resources available for this to continue happening to families in Atlanta. That’s what this bus tour is about; making sure the people here know that too.”
The tour is scheduled to make two more stops in Miami, Florida and Cleveland, Ohio.
