When the 2009 BET awards announced that it would be a tribute to Michael Jackson, they set the expectations very high.
People tweetin from the ceremony thought it was good, viewers on twitter didn’t agree. From some peeps pre show being happy that Chris Brown would not perform to those same people being ultra negative that the show did not pay tribute enough to the King of Pop.
I agree the show was not what people wanted / needed at this time , i believe other award ceromonies will live up to expectations and will include Chris Brown ( Either CoverGirl sponsor conflicts or Jay- Z being the rumored reason to him not performing). I hope it’s not the latter because i like Jay-z (1) and (2) he has no right to do that…just Ego.
Everything though was silenced when Janet Jackson made a surprising and moving small appreciation speech to the crowd (picture of Michael and Janet as the backdrop was heartbreaking), and Jamie Foxx & Ne-yo ended the show with a tear jerking rendition of ‘I’ll Be there’.
I am sooo over negative press and autopsy reports etc , everytime Michael Jackson’s music comes on it makes you feel good or just makes you FEEL!!
