When ‘Put Your Record On’ came out , it was refreshing to me. So when Corinne’s album became a hit, and she performed at the Grammy’s it seemed like the perfect beginning to a career. But her husband Jason Rae died of an accidental drug overdose in March 2008.
Corinne has shied away from the spotlight since the incident, but she recently stepped back into the studio to write some new music and admits her tracks are a lot darker than her previous work.
But singer/songwriter Bailey Rae admits she almost put down her pen for good because the pain of her loss was so unbearable.
She says, “I did think I could never do this sort of thing again, because if anyone asked me about Jason, I would just explode.
“For a long time, I didn’t even try to write. It was just too big a thing, too raw.”
